Exploring Design With Purpose: Our All-Day Oshkosh Adventure
Our students spent a full day in Oshkosh diving deep into the world of design and discovering its power to change lives.
They began at a Tiny Home Village, where students learned how thoughtful construction can support individuals experiencing homelessness. From layout choices to building codes, they saw how smart design can create dignity, safety, and opportunity.
Next, they stepped into the world of commercial interior design at The Truffle Pig, exploring how function and aesthetics come together in real business spaces.
The day wrapped up at a beautifully restored vacation home on a historic farm property that was completely gutted and rebuilt to honor its original era.
All three projects were brought to life by the same talented designer, who walked our students through the behind-the-scenes process: the codes, the creativity, the challenges, and the tough conversations needed to advocate for people’s living spaces.
By the end of the trip, students didn’t just learn about commercial and residential design. They gained real-world insight, practical skills, and meaningful life lessons about the impact thoughtful design can have on communities.
