English Language Arts
The North High ELA Department fosters student engagement in reading, writing, speaking & listening skills, and critical thought. A spiraled curriculum based on the Common Core State Standards is the foundation used to prepare North students for life after high school. Throughout a student's academic course work, one will experience a variety of learning modes, including small group activities, independent tasks, Socratic seminars, large group lectures, and more. The ELA department offers a variety of courses to prepare students to be college and career ready.
