Multilingual Learners

The ML department (Multilingual Learners) of North High School helps bilingual learners to acquire the skills necessary for success in the English-only classroom and to grow empowered to engage more fully in U.S. society. Our services focus on advancing learners' English proficiency in the areas of writing, reading, speaking, and listening.

We work with students one-on-one or in small groups in order to provide maximum attention to individual needs, and we collaborate with other instructors in teaching academic courses. In addition, we seek out opportunities to connect learners with precollege programs, 21st-century skills training, and community leadership and arts opportunities. Dedicated to partnering with parents and guardians, we also provide Spanish and Hmong interpretation. Se habla español. Peb hais lus Hmoob.
