Esports

Since 2019, North High has participated in competitive Esports at the state level through the educator-led group, Wisconsin High School Esports Association (WIHSEA) that has grown to over 200 participating schools. As a proud member of WIHSEA, North students have taken home trophies three times since starting competition, most notably a 1st place finish in the state in Spring of 2025 for Fortnite. These games require players to work as a team, but the best teams also have highly skilled players. North’s esports teams have participated in other games such as Rocket League, SMITE, Valorant, Mario Kart, and League of Legends.

Esports is a pipeline for students to gain valuable experience and skills. Esports fosters collaboration, leadership, communication, research, multi-tasking, confidence, digital literacy, and more. With a focus on academics and positive engagement, esports benefits dozens of students each year across three competitive seasons, each with multiple games. It has a bustling competitive scene and real opportunities for students to earn scholarships or even professional sponsorships.

For questions or additional information, please contact North's coach Dan Dielentheis at ddielentheis@sasd.net.
